Washing Powder
A simple recipe, using some low tox staples, this Laundry Powder recipe can be made in bulk, or divided to suit your needs (or the size of your washing powder container!)

Ingredients
- 2 cups Washing Soda also known as Sodium Carbonate
- 1½ cups Salt fine
- 1½ cups Ground Coconut Soap
- ¼ cup Sodium Bicarbonate also known as Bicarb or Baking Soda
Essential Oils
- 2-3 drops preferred essential oils see notes
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients (except essential oil/s) in large bowl2 cups Washing Soda, 1½ cups Salt, 1½ cups Ground Coconut Soap, ¼ cup Sodium Bicarbonate
- Transfer into airtight container of choice
To use
- Add a tablespoon of Washing Powder, along with 2-3 drops of essential oil per load2-3 drops preferred essential oils
Notes
- For lights and white loads, add 1/4 cup of Sodium Percarbonate along with the washing powder. This is the natural oxygen bleach component used in many commercial 'Oxy' whitening products (without the nasty chemical additives).
